About Us.

Regatta Directors face a number of challenges to ensure fair and safe competition. Most regattas are organized by volunteer individuals many of whom are parents or friends of clubs. Organizing a regatta today consumes a lot of person-hours of what is likely to be tedious work. RegattaEntry.Com was formed to eliminate the most tedious work as well as increase the accuracy of information.

No one wants to see a rower win a novice event who is not a novice. No master oarsman or oarswoman wants to race someone who claims to be the same age, but is actually much younger. A recent incident from this summer exemplifies one of the problems encountered. A master oarsman had used another online entry website to enter his own single entry. A friend from a different club entered this same individual for a composite double event. Other friends from the same club had entered this oarsman in two other events. In each of the events that this fellow was listed, he had a different birth date. Which means that the age adjustment for each event was wrong and needed to be tallied by hand.

As coaches, athletes, and regatta organizers, we can all recognize the need for accurate age information for juniors and masters as well as accurate status information for scholastic, elites, (or what used to be) senior, and intermediate levels. Senior and intermediate levels were dropped from the rules because there wasn't a way to track competitors' status....until now.

The answer to this problem is secure and accurate competitor information. RegattaEntry.Com was founded to fill exactly that need. Contributors to the RegattaEntry.Com website's systems approach have more than 164+ years combined of regatta organization, coaching, referee, and competitor experience. The webmasters and "Ram-Rod" for RegattaEntry.Com website are a Mechanical Engineer, who rowed competitively, coached, and is now a licensed referee and a Information Science degreed gents who strive for a procedural, systems approach to data handling.

The RegattaEntry.Com system allows the individual competitors take charge of their information and take control of who may submit entries on their behalf. The coaches have an easy way of submitting, editing, scratching entries, and organizing athletes in their program. Regatta organizers will have easy to understand reports and control over: 1) submitted entries, 2) entered rowers for a sellable program, 3) accurate average ages for time adjustment, 4) lightweight weigh in sheets 5) race day results, and more.

RegattaEntry.Com is unique in its ability to understand and cater to individual competitors. Registering with the RegattaEntry.Com website once is all that is needed for a lifetime of rowing. Your account will move with you from school to school, school to club, club to Olympics, or competitor to coach. The RegattaEntry.Com system is so unique we have applied for a US patent on the process and method.

There are other differences in our approach as compared to our competitors. RegattaEntry.Com will not display submitted entries to anyone until the entries have closed officially. You may be surprised to know that there are individuals who would wait until the last moment and only then enter the easiest event--A.K.A. "Pot-Hunting."

RegattaEntry.Com has debuted with only a few of the planned features operational. Within a few months all currently planned features will be loaded and running. With your cooperation and participation we hope to make rowing racing more fair, accurate, and reliable as well as the jobs of the predominantly volunteer regatta organizers, coaches, and referees much easier and less time consuming.

Thanks for your help,
